Clean the ball

What is a CIP Cleaning Ball?

A CIP (Clean-in-Place) cleaning ball, also known as a spray ball or tank washing nozzle, is a specialized device installed inside process vessels, tanks, and reactors to distribute cleaning fluid (water, detergent, or sanitizer) across all internal surfaces. Cleaning balls are essential components in automated CIP systems used in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, dairy, and beverage industries.

Cleaning balls are manufactured from stainless steel 304 or 316L with precisely drilled orifices that create a spray pattern covering the entire tank interior. They operate using the pressure of the CIP supply fluid — fixed spray balls create a static pattern while rotary spray balls use the fluid pressure to spin, creating a dynamic 360-degree cleaning action.

Cleaning Ball Types

Fixed Spray Ball

  • Static spray pattern
  • Simple, no moving parts
  • Lower pressure requirement
  • For smaller tanks and simple geometries

Rotary Spray Ball

  • 360-degree dynamic cleaning
  • Fluid-driven rotation
  • Higher cleaning impact
  • For larger tanks and complex geometries

Rotary Jet Cleaner

  • High-impact concentrated jets
  • Gear-driven slow rotation
  • Maximum cleaning power
  • For heavily soiled tanks and reactors
